Dear Megan, Thomas, and John (and of course Mom),
Hello from Camp Hodska. I miss you all- especially Mom. I am having a great time here at Triathlon Camp, meeting many great people even crazier than me, and learning so much about myself and this sport. The past 2 days have been loads of fun. Yesterday Coach Eric took us out on a bike ride into the middle of the woods and then had us do sprints while Baker (Eric's evil cohort) kept moving the finish line around : ). Today we were tested to see where we were physically. We swam and had fun raccing in teams, then we ran on a track, and finally Eric wanted to complete the pain by having us bike all out for three miles !!! I am learning so much as is everyone here. As I move towards Lake Placid this helps me gauge where I am and what I yet have to do to accomplish this goal. I am not alone as there are other people here training for their first Ironman, several who will be at Lake Placid with me. It is getting late and I need to sleep to be prepared for tomorrow. When I leave here on Sunday I will not only leave knowing more about myself but with new friends as well. Take care of Mom and remember...proceed forth with vigor and determination and remember above all you are Brennan children ! Hu Ra ! Love- Dad back to Day 2 |
