Hi All,
I hope everyone is getting outside and enjoying some of this incredible weather. It’s been quite busy here – some of the things going on:
Racing
There has been lots of racing already! IM Arizona, Boston Marathon, New York Duathlons, St. Croix, Greenwich Biathlon, 10K’s, 5 K’s are some of the races where many of you have been spotted. Everyone is racing really well thus far – keep it up, you are making me look good! Please send any of your race results and reports to Alan or myself for Hodska.com.
Website
We are about to release the new website format and want all of you to be more interactive. If anyone has anything to contribute, please contact us. We will have a section were many of you will list the races you plan on doing so that you can look out for each other at the races, and avoid the ones that Baker’s planning on doing.
MyAthlete
John Brennan launched his GPS tracking device business at the Boston marathon with amazing success. Rick and Dick Hoyt were amongst the 45 athlete’s demo’ing the units. Please stay tuned to Myathlete.biz for more information and look to track many EH athletes this season online, especially at LP.
Camps
The 2008 Tucson Camp just passed in March and was once again amazing! That place is one of the best areas I have ever trained in, and it is so great to escape the cold weather for a week and log some big bike miles. Sign up for the 2009 Tucson camp and don’t miss out again!
The 2008 Lake Placid Camp is coming up in early June. We had a person that needed to bail out so we have one opening still!!!
Many of you know already, however, in case you don’t, we have moved the 2008 CT Camp to September. With the influx of late season races, including many ½ Ironmans, marathons, IM Hawaii, IM Florida, and IM Arizona, we thought it would be more fitting to offer an early fall camp.
Group Training Sessions (For CT people. If you are out of state and have group training sessions you want to advertise on my site, contact me)
The Sunday runs are still on in Monroe. All abilities welcome (courses marked) and you don’t have to work with me to attend these – the more the merrier. Just know that they won’t be a regular long run. We work in some big hills, intervals, repeats, and tempo!
If you get a chance, join the 7:30am Bethel Bike Shop ride on Saturdays – it’s a fun time!
Starting in late May, we’ll be doing a Thursday night 6pm ride. This ride will be for everyone and will consist of intervals or hill repeats, doing a warm-up and cooldown together. Contact me if you are interested.
If anyone else is putting on any group training sessions that you’d like to advertise on my site, please contact me.
Other Crap
The Vermont Ride will be once again taking place this summer. There are some criteria for taking place in this ride: No whining, be self-sufficient, and have a good sense of humor. If you think you meet these criteria and want to give it a go, contact me. The dates have yet to be decided but be ready! This is an incredible adventure.
We are shooting our cycling training download and DVD series next month! Stay tuned.
Cheers,
EH
