Motivating, inspirational, positive, fun, and supportive are all qualities of a great coach. Eric Hodska is all that and more. I have been with Eric for over 4 years. His programs are totally customized to your personal needs and goals.

Triathlon Camps…. Many athletes wonder if the experience is worth the money. Eric’s Triathlon camp far exceeded any expectations that I had. I have been fortunate enough to attend 3 of Eric’ camps and I am signed up again for 2004. Having been in the sport for over 8 years I have attended several other triathlon camps and nothing compared to my camp experiences at Hodska’s camps. Eric’s unique coaching style brings out the best in all his athletes. Eric’s camps are a great way to jump start your training, or to fine tune for race preparation. They are educational, action packed with challenging workouts, and most of all fun.

Eric Hodska brought me to a level of competitiveness I might not have otherwise known. He brings out the best in his athletes and not just in the athletic arena but in life! Eric has shown me the importance of priorities and balance which have allowed me to become a successful athlete and a better person. I can’t say thank you enough!

Eric is an incredible athlete! He has consistently been an Elite amateur triathlete since I’ve known about him, which is approximately 9 years. What is amazing to me is that as exceptional as he is as an athlete, he is an even better coach!

I have been a fitness enthusiast for virtually my entire life and a triathlete for 11 years. Eric has been my triathlon coach for the last 4 years. During this time he has continuously amazed me by his overall level of knowledge in all areas of health and fitness. Our weekly conversations have centered on a myriad of topics including the technical aspects of swimming, biking and running, nutrition, injury prevention and recovery plans, strategy, and equipment. I have yet to find a topic relating to fitness or triathlon that Eric was not well versed in.

Eric’s approach is geared to each individual’s goals and special circumstances. The creativity of his workouts has continued to challenge me while making the workouts interesting and fun. His guidance and inspiration have contributed to PR performances in triathlon distances ranging from sprint to ironman. It so amazing to continue to improve even in my 50’s! I would highly recommend Eric to anyone seeking a coach or fitness instructor.

"I began working with Eric following knee surgery. I thought that this might be a reward for the challenges that lay before me in rehabilitating an injured and arthritic knee. What I discovered over the past several years is that Eric has not merely changed my knee or, to be more precise, the muscles and ligaments that surround it. Eric has changed my life. I am a psychiatrist and Eric helps to keep me balanced not only physically, but mentally. So, I suppose you could say he is a psychiatrist's psychiatrist. I have recommended Eric to many of my patients. Their experience with Eric has enhanced, deepened and accelerated our treatment. In conclusion, I should add that I am in no way related to Eric, except spiritually."

If you want to be the best athlete that you can be, stay injury free, have a personally customized program for yourself and achieve your goals then Eric Hodska is your coach. I’ve been with him for over 3 years and my wife for just under 3 years and in that time I’ve started and raced 5 Ironmans including qualifying and completing Kona Hawaii in 2002. Eric has a job just like the rest of us, has a family, has his priorities straight and has the race credentials of one of the top age group triathletes in the country so unlike so many coaches he understands the words priority and balance. Whether your goal is to compete at the Hawaii Ironman or to finish your first triathlon this is your guy.

I’m not a big believer in maintenance,” Eric has said to me on more than one occasion.  I have come to appreciate that attitude enormously.  When I started working out with Eric about 5 years ago, I already had the “exercise habit” --  I had made it a part of my daily routine for about 10 years by then.  However, he consistently turns up the volume on our workouts so that my strength and overall fitness are ever reaching new heights!

Naturally I am pleased with the aesthetic results.  Between our strength training sessions, his advice on my interim cardiovascular workouts and the diet he custom-designed for me, the results are evident:  I have gone from 140 pounds to 120 pounds, from a size 8 to a size 4, and we have reached and are maintaining our goal of 16% body fat.

It goes beyond that, though. I enjoy constant reminders that my current level of fitness is far beyond what it was when I was 40 or even 30.  What this means is that I have the confidence to tackle just about any new physical activity with the knowledge that I can do it and avoid injury in the process, which is important to me at age 50 and with a 6-year old!

As tough as our workouts have gotten at this point, I can honestly say that I look forward to seeing Eric each and every time.  He shows up at our door 3 days a week  by 6 a.m. and afterwards I feel physically tired but at the same time rejuvenated.

He is incredibly knowledgeable and never loses at “Can you stump Eric?”  This is my ongoing barrage of questions about exercise, supplements, diet, medications, you name it.  He has become a great friend and is a top-notch trainer (and we’ve had others!).  And when you take the time to watch the videotape of his Hawaii Ironman Triathlons, you realize why the words “I can’t!” are just not acceptable to him.

He’s an inspiration to me, and I am very grateful to him for all he has done for me.
